Lena Ures is a photographer with a focus on portraits and documentary projects.
Her practice often moves between documentary photography and subjective narratives. In her work, she is interested in dynamics of belonging, structures of power and doubts. The possibility of holding multiple perspectives and to allow for spaces of human ambivalence.
Lena studied Language Arts and Photography at University of Applied Arts Vienna, where she developed her interest in subjective and collective narratives. Her work has been supported by the Rudolf-Augstein-Foundation and shown internationally, including exhibitions in Europe, Australia, and the United States.
Based in Berlin, she works on commissions and long-term questions worldwide, most recently in Armenia and Azerbaijan. Her practice is rooted in close collaboration – with people and with contradictions.
